Barbie Micro Minis Get Oatriotic for America250 and July 4

Image
Just when you thought they couldn’t get any more festive, the Barbie micro minis are pulling out all the stops with new accessories for the big America250 4th of July Celebration! It’s All in the Details The little micro minis have had some makeovers to their outfits. From left to right: The brunette ponytail 2026 mini has had her top painted with red stripes, a red bracelet, and red lipstick added and found a sweet navy blue shrug to wear. The blond 2026 ponytail had her skirt painted red instead of pink, has red lipstick and a cute black shoulder bag. The 2025 blonde ponytail has a flag purse and a red, white and blue shawl to match her outfit. The 2025 brunette had her top painted red to go with her blue pants, as well as new red lipstick, and the plump 2026 mini had her purple skirt and pendant painted blue.  A “before” shot of some of the girls.  It’s a fun challenge trying to find or make accessories for such tiny girls, but every success is enjoyable   Happy...

Patriotic Gnomes at Walgreens

Image
I almost missed these little cuties, but Walgreens has a selection of 4th of July gnomes, and they have just gone on sale! Regularly $5, they are now on sale for $3.79.  Smaller than the gnomes available at Michael’s and Dollar Tree, these cute little fellows look adorable mixed in with the bigger Summer Gnomes .  The Walgreens gnome, left, pictured next to the Michael’s gnome in the middle and the Dollar Tree gnome on the right There were only four gnomes left at my local Walgreens and I left with one of them. Grab yours before they are gone.  Related: Michael’s: 4th of July & Pumpkins!  Patriotic Gnomes Celebrate July 4 with Groovy Girls Vanessa   Summer Gnomes Barbie Minis Prepare for the Semiquincentennial Looking Ahead to America’s 250th Birthday 4th of July 2025: Events, Articles, Poems & More

Michael’s: 4th of July & Pumpkins!

Image
~ Because nothing says 4th of July like pumpkins!! ~ I commented recently on Michael’s May ad for the Lemax Halloween Village a few weeks ago, but nothing prepared me for a recent visit to the store where pumpkins sat next to 4th of July merchandise!  Maybe that mischievous patriotic gnome had something to do with it! Or maybe it’s because some of the pumpkins are white… for red, white and blue! In any case, the summer stuff and July 4 decorations are moving on out while pumpkins and fall have moved in at Michael’s.  Related: Michael’s May Halloween Ad Summer Gnomes

Patriotic Gnomes Celebrate July 4 with Groovy Girls Vanessa

Image
The little patriotic gnomes from Dollar Tree picked up some July 4 buckets there and some small 4th of July flags at Michael’s and went on an adventure to find some holiday treasure  They ran into Groovy Girls Vanessa along the way and sat down to share some holiday cheer.  After their visit, the gnomes realized that while they hadn’t filled their buckets with treasure, they had made a new friend— a very great treasure indeed.   Happy 4th of July from the Dollar Tree gnomes and Groovy Girls Vanessa!  Related: Michael’s: 4th of July & Pumpkins!    Summer Gnomes

Moxie Teenz Dolls Get Ready for Flag Day & the 4th of July

Image
Memorial Day weekend is a serious occasion to remember those who have fallen in battle defending our country and the values upon which it was founded. The Moxie Teenz pulled out their patriotic attire and proudly displayed their American flags in honor of Memorial Day. When the weekend was over, the girls decided to keep their outfits handy because in a couple of weeks, Flag Day will be here, and in a month, the 4th of July will take place.  Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the  flag of the United States  on June 14, 1777, by  resolution  of the  Second Continental Congress . What a great time to wear red, white and blue! The wonderfully patriotic holiday on July 4 celebrates the birth of our Republic. It also honors the wisdom and faith of our Founding Fathers who set our country on the path to freedom through the Declaration of Independence .  It is no wonder the Moxie Teenz girls, Melrose and Tristan, love wearing their red, white and ...

Comparing Madame Alexander Fan Girls Bodies to Moxie Teenz, Etc.

Image
Nutcracker Barbie, Black Widow Fan Girls, Moxie Teenz Melrose, Jackie Evancho Madame Alexander’s Marvel Fan Girls are alike in size and appearance to Moxie Teenz and similar dolls like Jackie Evancho and other 13 1/2” - 14” fashion dolls. With similar builds, they can swap many outfits out. In this first photo both the Fan Girl and Barbie Nutcracker dolls are wearing the same Moxie Teenz Top. However, there are still some differences. The Madame Alexander Fan Girls are slimmer than Moxie Teenz and the other dolls. They can easily wear many Barbie clothes. The Black Widow Fan Girls Doll in the photo is wearing a red pleather Barbie skirt. How the Dolls Stack Up The Fan Girls Dolls have very slender necks that are not in proportion to their heads but their larger heads help them display well with the Moxie Teenz. They have skinnier arms than the other dolls. The Fan Girls are missing the twist torso and bendable ankles of the Moxie Teenz but are very poseable due to other ball...

Moxie Teenz, Fan Girls Celebrate 4th of July

Image
Moxie Teenz, Fan Girls & other 14" friends The Moxie Teenz are known for their big eyes with rooted lashes and their moveable limbs as well as their 14" inch size. How nice it has been for them to make occasional friends along the way that share some of their attributes! In honor of the approaching 4th of July holiday, the Teenz invited their newest friends, the Madame Alexander Fan Girls, and some other friends to a July 4th party to celebrate our nation's birth, patriotism and friendship. Captain America Fan Girls doll The Moxie Teenz girls and Gavin have put on their favorite red, white and blue outfits for the party, along with two Jackie Evancho dolls (one with a Liv head) . Barbie wears a simple summer peasant skirt and top, while the Captain America Fan Girl has arrived in her original outfit. Her friend Black Widow has taken off her black gown to wear a 4th of July skirt and a top she probably borrowed from Ken or a Backstreet Boy or other boy do...

Madame Alexander Fan Girls Dolls: Captain America Review

Image
Madame Alexander Marvel Captain America Fan Girls Doll. Shield not included. The Madame Alexander Marvel Captain America Fan Girls Review is part III in a series about a new line of 14" dolls from the MA doll company. Hooray for the Red, White and Blue! The Madame Alexander Marvel Captain America Fan Girls doll is quite a patriotic beauty. 4th of July and Flag Day come to mind immediately when looking at her, so while she is a tribute to Captain America, the doll will be great for seasonal patriotic display. Dressed in red, white and blue, she is as American as Mom's apple pie with a cropped blue top sewn over a white t-shirt, nice blue leggings, and her red and white striped skirt. The skirt features two layers. One is a bubble skirt with a floors-length layer underneath that is open in the front to show off her ugly World War II-esque lace up Army boots. Captain America Fan Girls and her Army boots  "Your mother wears Army Boots" was an insult in...

Belle Meade Plantation Belles holds July meeting & drawing The Belle Meade Plantation Belles held their July meeting on Thursday, July 5 at Shoney's Bellevue. It might have been the day after the 4th of July, but patriotic dolls were out in full force. However, the featured display was of a Barbie sized Barbie Bazaar office cubicle. Barbie Bazaar was the world's leading Barbie doll collectors magazine from 1988 - 2006, and I was a staff writer there as the Global Barbie columnist, so it was with great pleasure that I heard my name announced as the winner!
