Fashion Dolls 101

There isn't really anything special about this cute bear with pink ears, nose and feet other than I received him for Valentine's Day along with some pale pink roses from my husband.  That, of course, makes him the most special bear in the world, even though my Valentine bear came from WalMart! A visit to see the lavish Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times exhibit  at Cheekwood Mansion in Nashville  promised to be a day of  fashion and histor y. What I didn't expect was to find cute Downton Abbey dressed bears as well as small doll-sized accessories from the 1930s! Downton Abbey bears photo (c) Kathryn Darden The set of three bears was displayed twice, so here are both displays so you get the bears at two different angles.  Small accessories included small serving pieces and small hats of the era made into what may have been pin cushions but just begged to be reassembled atop some lucky doll's head!
