Fashion Dolls 101

  Although Carlson dolls have an interesting history going back to 1946 when  founders Ray and Ann Carlson started the company in Maple Lake, Minnesota, they are best known for the small, hard plastic dolls they started making in t he early 1950s.  At the peak of the company's production, Carlson Dolls produced some 500 different dolls. These two sweet little pilgrim dolls above were probably produced during the heyday of  Carlson Dolls  and appear to be simple pilgrims dressed in grey with grey bow and trim.  Another set of Carlson pilgrims honors John and Priscilla Alden. These pilgrim dolls have black bows and trim. Both sets are 7- 8' tall and made of hard plastic with sleep eyes and mohair. These pilgrim dolls are adorable and perfect for a bit of Thanksgiving decor. Happy Thanksgiving!
