Pumpkin Patch Village The little Barbie Micro Minis are hosting a Halloween Party. Pumpkin Patch Village was decorated for fall with pumpkins everywhere.  Pop Star Barbie (back right) Performs for the Micro Minis Pop Star Barbie was on hand to perform for the crowd, and Black Cat Cafe hosted a costume party. You can see the costumes guests starting to arrive on the left while others enjoy entertainment from Pop Star Barbie   Black Cat Cafe Hosts a Costume Party Pumpkin Patch Pumpkins Other guests just enjoyed the Pumpkin Patch autumn pumpkins.  2025 Figures & Buildings  Barbie Micro Minis can still be found in Dollar Tree stores.  Various Dollar stores offer a variety of gnome figures, and I have already shared some of my finds on this blog.  These two figures came from Dollar Tree. I added a cute little gnome I found at a Dollar store and thought my little fall gnome family was complete… and then this week I found this sweet little thanksgiving gnome at a Dollar General store. What a cute little autumn gnome grouping! ~ Cute seasonal gnomes are taking over for fall & Halloween decorating ~   Gnome for the Fall Festivities A few days ago I wrote about some of the cute new fall and Halloween gnomes showing up at Dollar Tree .  They have had quite the variety on their shelves this season. and each Dollar Tree I have visited has had a different group of gnomes.  I mentioned that I wanted to go back for the little trick-or-treating dog, and I did! But when I got there, they had added this handsome fellow to the assortment.  Of course I got both, so the little dog has a friend. See photo at top.  Which ones do you like best?   Dollar Tree has an unexpected selection of Gnomes and critters out for Halloween. Typically they issue two, maybe three and rarely four gnomes at a time, but this is an assortment of five little trick or treaters, made like their gnomes and Easter bunnies. While not exactly gnomes, they would definitely fit in with your fall gnome collection.  There is a ghost, a candy corn witch, a dog, a bat and a purple monster, available for $1.50 each. ~ Because nothing says 4th of July like pumpkins!! ~ I commented recently on Michael’s May ad for the Lemax Halloween Village a few weeks ago, but nothing prepared me for a recent visit to the store where pumpkins sat next to 4th of July merchandise!  Maybe that mischievous patriotic gnome had something to do with it! Or maybe it’s because some of the pumpkins are white… for red, white and blue! In any case, the summer stuff and July 4 decorations are moving on out while pumpkins and fall have moved in at Michael’s.  Related: Michael’s May Halloween Ad Summer Gnomes 

 It’s May 29 and Michael’s is already advertising Halloween—Lemax Halloween that is. The Halloween ad showed up in an email from the craft store chain today   “Psst … Get exclusive Lemax Spooky Town pieces EARLY” was the headline of the Michael’s advertisement in my e-mail this morning.  Michael’s, I like your stores but MAY is too early to be promoting Halloween!!! Really, just stop it. May is the time to promote spring, summer and patriotic decor. Put the spooky stuff down until fall. That is all. 

 September is here and that means Dia de Los Muertos and Halloween cannot be far behind. Where can you find colorful and whimsical figures for the October holidays? At Michael’s, of course! These colorful Dia de Los Muertos figures are definitely ready for a night on the town! And who wouldn’t want to go dancing with this die-namic skeleton couple? They would definitely still be fashionable on Halloween. Speaking of skeletons and Halloween, how about these spooky little figures? If whimsey and color are your game, Michael's is the name! But don't wait too long or they will make like ghosts and disappear. Happy Halloween from Jackie Evancho!  It’s Halloween, so Jackie Evancho is celebrating everything Autumn! Wearing a hand-made fall-color plaid skirt and a matching brown top with orange graphic she borrowed from another doll, the 14” fashion doll looks quite festive with her pumpkins and her own Halloween doll.  The doll is well-made, pretty, and very possible, but unfortunately, she didn’t come with a wardrobe other than the white dress and purple cape she wore in the box. Fortunately, she can borrow many wardrobe items from the Moxie Teenz, and some Ken-sized boy-doll clothes will fit her, too. Rag dolls are  dolls traditionally home-made from spare scraps of cloth and other materials. The faces are usually painted or sewn on. According to Wikipedia, they are one of the oldest children's toys in existence.  I recently came across these two charmers left by the side of the road in Oklahoma City on Big Trash Day. Although I do own a couple of rag dolls, I don't really collect them, but I couldn't abandon these two cuties there, so I rescued them. One is a fanciful Halloween doll with straw hair, and the other is a festive Christmas doll with wool hair, clutching her own small doll in one hand. Once I got the girls home, I discovered they were signed and tagged. The dolls were signed in 1995 and 1996 by Jeannie Dibble. One tag is Dibble's own tag and the other is from a store in Stillwater called Kottage Shoppe which sold country crafts made in Oklahoma.  I couldn't find any more info on Dibble Dolls online, but I did find a reference to Barbara Murat of Fle...

  Trick or Treat? This year we are going for a Halloween treat with vintage Barbie and Skipper in their 1960s Pierrette Halloween Masquerade costumes.  The black and gold masquerade costumes are perfect for Halloween festivities, with their pointy hats, black tights, shoes and masks. Barbie and Skipper look picture perfect together .  There was a matching ensemble for Ken but I never got it, so poor Ken is left out of the Halloween picture.That's ok, because my dog, Jack, was also dressed up for Halloween and kept hopping in the picture. Although I have collected several other Halloween dolls through the years, this vintage Barbie and Skipper duo in their gold and black Masquerade outfits remain my favorite Halloween dolls. Madame Alexander Fan Girls Black Widow & Captain America One of the more recent additions to the doll collecting world is a relatively new collection from the prestigious Madame Alexander doll company. As mentioned in Part one of this series on the Fan Girls Dolls , the new MA dolls pay tribute to some of Marvel Comics most beloved heroes. Black Widow Fan Girl Review The Black Widow Fan Girls doll would be a great witch for Halloween with her stark black gown with its dramatic collar and spider-themed hat. Her red hair looked pretty enough, but it was tied onto the doll's dress. In fact, all these dolls suffer from being severely tied to their plastic cases with arms, legs, clothing and shoes all tied overly securely to the boxes, so much so that they are difficult and time consuming to remove. Tonner's Marley Wentworth celebrates Halloween Tonner's Marley Wentworth has been celebrating Halloween all weekend long, enjoying the cooler weather and fall leaves but most of all, the Halloween activities. She went to trunk-or-treat at a church in her community on Sunday night, and she is getting ready to go trick-or-treating on Halloween night. She is so excited about dressing up she even dreamed she was in a magical Halloween forest with her friends. Here you can see Marley in the Bunny Costume that comes with the Marley Halloween trunk, as well as dressed up like Alice in Wonderland and like Lucy in Chronicles of Narnia. In her Halloween dream, you will see the same Marley dolls plus a Sugar Plum Party Marley. All costumes were made by the Tonner Doll Company for their respective series. Pet peeve: 'Rare' & 'HTF' dolls on ebay One of my pet peeves is visiting ebay and seeing all the plethora of dolls marked "rare." I recently saw an entire page of Boo-tiful Halloween Barbie dolls marked "rare." Hello! If there is a page full of them -- they AREN'T "rare," especially if they originally sold in large quantities in grocery stores!
