What is Raffia?

I was recently in a party story at Nashville West on Charlotte Pike and found a delicate raffia trim in a perfect scale to make Gene, Tyler and similar 16" sized dolls a Hawaiian or Polynesian grass skirt. Raffia palms are native to tropical regions of Africa, and Central and South America and grow the longest leaves in the plant kingdom. The long, fibrous leaves are sturdy and flexible and great for grass skirts if you can find it in the right scale.
