Plantation Belles Doll Club December meeting & Christmas party - Nashville Doll Collecting Examiner Belle Meade Plantation Belles Doll Club December Meeting The Belle Meade Plantation Belles Doll Club held their annual December meeting and Christmas party on December 2, 2010. Every year the Nashville club holds a Christmas party for their December meeting, so the tables were decorated with holiday dolls including Barbie dolls and Disney dolls.

The third collection of the Barbie Basics line of dolls for collectors 14 and older was released in Target Stores in 2010. What are Barbie Basics? They are 12 Barbie dolls with a new take on the little black dress and accessories. Collection Red from the popular Barbie series is a Target store exclusive which features 3 dolls wearing basic red dresses. One the left is Model 1, the Mackie-faced bleach blond from the first collection. In the middle is the vintage Steffie face of Model 3 with long brunette hair. On the right is Model 2, the Lara-faced doll as an African American with curly hair this time around.

Pink Careless Kisses Madra ensemble a Nashville exclusive - Nashville Doll Collecting Examiner Golden Age of Doll Couture in Nashville When the Golden Age of Doll Couture convention came to Nashville recently, a few dolls were designed just for the Nashville show. One of the prettiest was not even a new design, but was a special dye job just for the event. In honor of the Madra doll's 10th anniversary , the Doll Couture convention even had a few of the very limited edition Careless Kisses Madra outfits (sometimes called "Stolen Kisses") dyed a soft pink just for their table displays.

I was recently in a party story at Nashville West on Charlotte Pike and found a delicate raffia trim in a perfect scale to make Gene , Tyler and similar 16" sized dolls a Hawaiian or Polynesian grass skirt. Raffia palms are native to tropical regions of Africa, and Central and South America and grow the longest leaves in the plant kingdom. The long, fibrous leaves are sturdy and flexible and great for grass skirts if you can find it in the right scale.

Thanksgiving Pilgrim dolls on display at Nashville doll club November meeting - Nashville Doll Collecting Examiner Plantation Belle Doll Club's Thanksgiving Meeting on November 4 The Belle Meade Plantation Belles Doll Club celebrated Thanksgiving on November 4, 2010 at their monthly meeting at Shoneys in Bellevue. Although there were not as many doll displays as usual, there were still a variety of dolls to be seen including an African-American Avon Rose Splendor Barbie, two vintage Barbie dolls, and a small display of assorted Pilgrim dolls .
