Fashion Dolls 101 Woman of the Year Award 2025

Many magazines and organizations award women their prestigious Woman of the Year Awards, usually in the spring, to honor females who have broken glass ceilings and contributed significantly to their respective industries, regions, etc.
But a recent trend has been to name MEN as “Woman of the Year,” as long as they wear a dress and call themselves a women.

Males Winning Woman of the Year

In 2014, Time awarded their “Woman of the Year” award to Roderick “Laverne” Cox. Glamour Magazine also manawarded their 2014 “Woman of the Year” honors to Cox. Other men who have walked away with Woman of the Year awards include: Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner, Richard/Rachel Levine (USA Today) and Dylan Mulvaney.

WOMAN OF THE YEAR

With all the attention on men stealing women’s awards, we thought it was time we jumped on the bandwagon and started giving out our own “Woman of the Year” award. Since this is a column dedicated to dolls and figures, you would be forgiven for thinking this prestigious award would go to Barbie or another fashion doll, but you would be wrong. We found the perfect candidate: #TransPotato

#TransPotato Wins Woman of the Year

#TransPotato has been documenting his… er, “their” um, “its” transition into womanhood on X starting with this post: a simple introduction:

Response to the stunning and brave potato born a vegetable with male bits who decided he was a real, biological woman was so positive, that #TransPotato became narcissistic, needy and self important and started documenting his journey into “girlhood” on social media.

As celebrities have announced their sexual orientations, so has #TransPotato.

Not quite a doll, not really a fashion icon, but certainly quite a figure and always a-peeling, #TransPotato allows us to laugh at a culture where men can invade women’s sports and demand entry into women’s private spaces simply by saying they are women; where men can post photos of themselves in sex shop or little girl clothes with impunity and insist that we deny both reality and biology to affirm them.

So for our very first “Woman of the Year” award, we salute #TransPotato, for being the first vegetable born with male bits to proclaim he is a woman, and for making us laugh at the craziness of our chaotic culture. If a man can be “Woman of the Year,” why can’t a cross-dressing potato who says he is a woman?

While #TransPotato is not available in stores, check your older potatoes for sprouts in all the right places. Maybe you will find your own #TransPotato.

The regular updates of #TransPotato appear on this Twitter account about every 5 days between other posts about culture and entertainment, with random potato satire posts when something newsworthy or particularly ridiculous happens. Here is his last update at the time of this article.
