Iconic Barbie Fashionista Dolls a Trip Down Memory Lane

It seems like only yesterday that we were celebrating Barbie’s 50th anniversary, but that was 15 years ago! Now we are celebrating the pink plastic princess’s 65th anniversary

For Barbie’s 65th birthday, Mattel has come out with a line of pink-box re-imagined Fashionista dolls based upon popular Barbie dolls through the years. From Barbie’s iconic zebra print swimsuit to Black Barbie, this new collection is a nostalgic trip down memory lane. The set even includes a Western Ken.

The Fashionistas put their own modern spin on vintage styles to try to make them relevant again.

I think the black Barbie fashionista captures her 1980 vintage  inspiration the best.

And the 1992 Totally Hair Barbie looks good in her new incarnation.

And, of course, we can’t forget the homage paid to the original 1959 Barbie doll who started it all

Some of them didn’t fully capture their counterparts, but all in all, it’s a cute collection at pink box prices
