Thanksgiving Dolls, Figures & More
In the early part of the 21st century, I bought a pilgrim girl nutcracker, hiding behind the tall pilgrim man. Around the same time, I got a pair of Carlson pilgrim dolls, (lower left in front) . This started a small but beloved collection of pilgrim dolls and figures. Since then I have added the occasional resin figure and I started collecting a few of the Publix Lilgrims (lower right in the front). Why Pilgrims? If you know the History of Thanksgiving , you know how courageous and persistent the Pilgrims were, surviving a perilous sea voyage, landing in a strange land with no shelter except what they could build and no crops except what would grow from the seeds they planted, and then surviving starvation and illness as their numbers dwindled.
