Elf on the Shelf Gets a Christmas Reindeer

Image
My husband's aunt Sherri sewed me a wonderful, colorful reindeer for Christmas this year, complete with halter and little jingle bells, that has already become a family heirloom. I love it, but it was quickly stolen from me by my Elf on the Shelf doll. The clever elf climbed up on the reindeer and locked his arms around the deer's antlers and simply won't let go.  I admitted defeat and let the elf have his reindeer. I'm not really too sorry about it. They do look mighty cute together. In fact, they match pretty well. It looks like they were almost made for each other. So Elf on the Shelf gets a Christmas reindeer and I get a cute holiday display! Merry Christmas from Fashion Dolls 101! A Very Minecraft Christmas

Image
Christmas joy fills the air in many worlds including the world of Minecraft. Steve and Alex and their friends have been busy decking the halls and trimming the trees. Almost any figures look cute when paired with colorful, miniature Christmas trees, and the denizens of Minecraft are no exception. Steve has donne a Christmas cap to keep his head warm while Alex says her Christmas green shirt is good enough for her. A villager has dropped by to wish then season's greetings. The creeper is even trying to get in on the celebration, hoping to end the party with a BANG! Tragically, the day after their Christmas party Alex was captured by a new mob, the Claw, and was waiting for Steve to rescue her just in time for Christmas. My hero! Merry Christmas from the Minecraft gang! Be sure to visit the    Minecraft Tribes page on Facebook  for more fun! Gnome Village

Image
The Tiny Treasures gnomes have been enjoying the summer showers, coming out of their gnome homes right after the rains when the forest is cool and damp. The whimsical little figures look equally at home in an indoor garden as they do in  the great outdoors. Their diminutive gnome habitat is so enticing, it has attracted visitors.  Rick from Rick and Morty has used his portal gun to transport himself into gnome world, and what I think is a stray vintage Bashful dwarf figure from Snow White has found his way to his new home. Sometimes it’s just fun to mix your minis up! So next time it showers take a look outside to see if a little gnome village has popped up in your back yard. You never know! Because there truly is no place like gnome.

World of Marwen with Steve Carrell Brings Dolls to Life

Image
Steve Carrell and assortment of fashion dolls stars in the quirky, cute and somewhat politically correct movie “Welcome to Marwen.” After a brutal attack by five men, Mark Hogancamp is left crippled emotionally and physically. With many of his memories lost and unable to draw because of his injuries, Mark picks up his camera and begins to reconstruct his memories and his life by taking photos of dolls. These photos reinact scenes from his broken memories and his dreams and take him on a cathartic journey into a new chance at life. The movie follows Mark’s staging and photographing doll dioramas, constructed in the elaborate town of Marwen Belgium he has constructed in his back yard. As he sets up the photos, the dolls come to life to tell the story through Mark’s imagination. Although the storyline of the doll scenes is set during World War II, it becomes clear that the Nazis who keep threatening Mark and Marwen are actually the five white supremicists who attacked him in r...

Image
Faith and begorrah! It's St. Patrick's Day Eve! The Madame Alexander Fan Girl  Black Widow doll on the left is wearing a green two-piece ensemble with a Saint Patrick's Day hair clip. Next to her, the Moxie Teenz doll wears a dress borrowed from a Barbie doll knock off. On the right, Liv in a red wig (on a Jackie Evancho doll body), wears a mid-length strapless sheath made out of the same material as the Fan Girl doll's two-piece outfit. Barbie dolls are sold in 150 countries around the world. The first Barbie doll was officially released by Mattel on March 9, 1959, at the New York Toy Fair at a cost of only $3. That first Barbie doll had side-glancing eyes with white irises, red lips and arched eyebrows. Her hair was styled in a ponytail with curly bangs. She had a very pale, ivory skin tone and came in blonde and brunette.  Barbie Doll's 50th Anniversary Barbie wore her famous black and white striped swimsuit and sported sunglasses and black heels. Sixty years later she's more popular than ever.  On average 58 million Barbie dolls are sold each year. 60th Anniversary Barbie Doll Barbie has had well over 200 different c...
