Belle Meade Plantation Belles Doll Club host Halloween party October 7 - Nashville Doll Collecting Examiner

On Thursday, October 7, the Belle Meade Plantation Belles Doll Club will hold their annual Halloween party at 7:00 PM at Shoneys in Bellevue. Members will bring their various Halloween dolls to display, and there will be a spooky Barbie haunted house on hand just for Barbie, Kelly and their friends.

Not only will an assortment of Halloween doll displays be set up, but as mentioned in Zona Harris presents work of doll designer Luis Maturino at Oct. Plantation Belles Doll Club meeting, club member Zona Harris will be doing a program on the customized dolls done by doll artist Luis Maturino. Her program will focus on his Kelly dolls which are repainted and dressed to look like vintage Barbie dolls.

The President Who Is Immortalized in Pop Culture as a Doll

  To commemorate the inauguration of President Donald Trump, this is an appropriate time to look at the fun figures inspired by the man himself. While some would disagree, many would say the man himself is a living doll.  There’s no denying he has inspired several dolls and figures   First is the Donald J. Trump 12” talking doll (center) which was released in 2004 while he was the star of the tv show, “The Apprentice.” This doll is a relatively life-like depiction of how Donald Trump looked while on the reality series and it says 17 phrases in his voice that were made popular on the show.  It is dressed in his typical navy blue suit with red tie   Next is the Trump troll doll (left) which was issued fairly recently, probably in 2023 or 2024. Dreamworld Trolls by Mattel

  Not too long ago, Walmart put their Dreamworks Trolls on sale for $5.97, so I decided to grab one. I never saw the movie, but I collected Russ trolls as a little girl, so I have occasionally added a thrift store troll to my collection through the years after losing all the ones I had as a child. Also, being a fan of the Pink Plastic Princess means the Mattel label on the package didn’t hurt, so I nabbed the pink girl troll.    The box date is 2023 and the packaging says “Dreamworks Trolls Band Together.” Related : Mouse in the House Caters to Kids Elf on the Shelf Falling Out of Favor ?
