Back in the day we had Barbie Bazaar Magazine, Millers Fashion Doll Magazine, Vicky's Dolls in Print, Doll World, DOLLS, Doll Reader, then Haute Dolls and more magazines and publications devoted entirely to dolls. Bald & Beautiful Barbie -- Will a Bald Doll Sell?

The past few days I have been flooded with calls and Facebook posts from friends who want me to jump on the Bald Barbie Bandwagon. "A lot of people are doing it," a friend told me on the phone. "It's been on the news and Facebook." I pointed out that Mattel has already done a OOAK bald Barbie in 2011 for a little girl, Genesis Reyes , who is battling cancer, and that Mattel had probably already considered doing a bald Barbie. Personally, I think it is a nice idea, but for a company -- is it a VIABLE idea? Plantation Belles Doll Club celebrates New Year with club dolls, special program The Belle Meade Plantation Belles Doll Club in Nashville presented their 2012 club dolls to club members in a special ceremony on Thursday night, Jan. 5. When members arrived at the party room at Shoney's in Bellevue, three tables were full of the club dolls in their sparkling gowns. The unique club dolls were dressed in elegant special-order full-length white silk gowns trimmed in silver sequins to celebrate the New Year.
