Paris Hilton Doll on Sale at Walmart

Image
~ Paris Hilton is the first ever Premium Edition Collector Doll ~  I am late to the party but the Paris Hilton Doll doll is on sale at Walmart—on sale for a whopping $99! Who has money to spend on a cheap, disproportionate looking doll like this? I sure don’t! The doll is dressed in a pink blazer and rhinestone-emblazoned dress, inspired by the ensemble Paris wore for her 21st birthday. The doll comes with accessories including a jewelry, a tiara, handbag, cellphone, and what’s supposed to be a pomeranian based on Paris’ dog Mr. Amazing. This white pup is the first dog to be featured with a Rainbow High doll. Had they chosen a company that would make the doll with the proportions of a Moxie Teenz doll, she might have been cute; she could have kept the big head on a slightly larger body and been a hit. But they chose to go with a Rainbow High doll and ended up with a lumpy, overpriced doll on SALE for $99, and plenty to choose from at that price.  If the doll drops down to mayb...

A 'Dolling' 4th of July

Image
Fun with dolls for the 4th of July Weekend  Happy 4th of July weekend from the Moxie Teenz, Liv, and Jackie Evancho dolls. The dolls have gotten all dressed up for the 4th of July weekend, and they look darling or as we say, “dolling.”  Wearing mix and match from the Moxie Teenz wardrobe spiced up with homemade clothes, and wigs and pieces from other dolls, the 14” girls are showing why July is their Pride Month and wearing their patriotic red, white and blue pride colors. Gavin has even donned a patriotic hat just for the occasion. The hybrid Liv on a Jackie Evancho body is wearing a curly red Snapstar wig. Moxie Teenz Melrose has a festive, red, white and blue hair clip that is the same length has her blonde hair. The pretty maple bench they are enjoying was handcrafted in Barton, VT. The girls were having so much fun, even #JackThePap had to get in on the action! Happy 4th of July Weekend from all the dolls, including #JackThePap! Related Articles: 4th of July 2022: Events,...

Ty Girls Soft-Bodied Dolls a Fun Spin Off of Rag Dolls

Image
Ty Girlz line of soft-sculpt cloth dolls made by makers of Beanie Babies Ty Girls Soft-Bodied Dolls  T he cute Ty Girlz line of soft-sculpt cloth dolls were introduced to the doll and toy market at the American International Toy Fair in New York, on February 11, 2007 . The cloth fashion dolls were released Ty Inc, maker of Beanie Babies. Like the Beanie Babies, the Ty Girls were soft plush, fabric dolls with embroidered faces, similar to a rag doll but with trendy, sometimes provocative clothes.  The first six Ty cloth dolls released in April 2007, were14-inches tall with mildly odd  but very striking  faces. Dolls after that were a bit shorter, were issued with wires so the Girlz could hold poses, and came with sweeter, softer, rounder faces that looked younger. Lot of Ty Girlz who have had some of their clothes scavenged Ty Girlz Threadz The dolls targeted tweens and teens and sported short skirts and cropped " belly-button"  tops . Their outfits could be mixe...

Erin Go Bragh! It's St. Patrick's Day Eve!

Moxie Teenz Melrose Makes a Mint Green Fashion Statement for  St.Patrick's Day   'Tis St. Patrick's Day Eve! I am traveling without my doll collection, but I did bring one Moxie Teenz Melrose doll in my suitcase along with her original blouse and boots. However, she just didn't say "St. Patrick's Day. I found a mint green sock and cut off everything below the heal. I sewed around the edge once to stabilize the knit edges, and then I hemmed the skirt. It may not be kelly green, but who says you can't wear mint green for Saint Paddy's day, especially with a little kelly green trim? Lucky Melrose found a jolly leprechaun  with a pot of gold to pose with.  In her first photo, Melrose is wearing a Snapstar wig , and in the second pic she is wigless and posing with an elf cap which makes her look like a fetching leprechaun lassie herself! Hey, who's that photo-bombing the 3rd photo? It's Jack The Pap, poking his nose in to make it a shamrock of three ...

Moxie Teenz & Fan Girls Host a Labor Day Garden Party

Image
The Moxie Teenz and their friends, the Madame Alexander Marvel Fan Girls threw a Labor Day party to welcome the last days of summer in style, and they invited some friends to celebrate with them. The girl just got their photos back and couldn't wait to share them.  To their delight, the Fan Girls have discovered they look good posing with the My Scene boy dolls, so they invited them to enjoy the Labor Day festivities. They even let Jackie Evancho and a Placo soldier join them for the outdoor party. Wave 3 Tristan with long black rooted hair is wearing her pink party dress for the occasion,. Not to be outdone, Melrose found another pink party dress to wear. She also quickly made friends with the Placo soldier. Fan Girl Gwen wore a sweet little dress from eBay.  Gavin came in his original outfit, minus the jacket and tie, and with more informal white shoes he borrowed from another boy doll from one of the singing groups. And Tristen, who is wearing a Barbie dress with add...

Snapstar Hairstyle Wigs a Good Fit for Moxie Teenz, Liv Dolls

Image
The relatively new Snapstar line of dolls from Yuzu have been marked down at Walmart along with their cute wigs. When I saw the $1.50 price tag, I knew it was time to try the wigs out on my Moxie Teenz dolls. The two wigs I found had attractive photos of the wigs, but would the wigs look like the photos, and would they fit the large heads of the Moxie Teenz and Liv dolls? The pink/blonde wig was almost identical to the photo but it had a long plug of plastic in it like the Liv wigs. Apparently Snapstar dolls have a hole in their heads. That's ok. I have been through this with Liv dolls. I simply turned the Snapstar wig inside out and cut off the plug. The pink/blonde wig fit perfectly on Moxie Teenz Melrose, so I did the same with the red wig. The red wig did not look like the photo. The photo on the Snapstar box shows flowing waves and straight bangs similar to the pink/blonde wig, but what you really get is a shorter curlier hairdo with some wave in the bangs. Still ...

Three Lucky Leprechauns (Dolls) for St. Patrick's Day

Image
Faith and begorrah! It's St. Patrick's Day Eve! You know, the traditional night when fashion dolls dress up in their green St. Paddy's finery to impersonate leprechauns and go looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! The Madame Alexander Fan Girl  Black Widow doll on the left is wearing a green two-piece ensemble with a Saint Patrick's Day hair clip. Next to her, the Moxie Teenz doll wears a dress borrowed from a Barbie doll knock off. On the right, Liv in a red wig (on a Jackie Evancho doll body), wears a mid-length strapless sheath made out of the same material as the Fan Girl doll's two-piece outfit. These cute dolls take being a leprechaun to a whole new fashion level. The other leprechauns will be green with envy! If you display St. Patricks Day dolls, tell us about them in the comments below. Happy St. Patrick's Day from Fashion Dolls 101! May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine ...

Comparing Madame Alexander Fan Girls Bodies to Moxie Teenz, Etc.

Image
Nutcracker Barbie, Black Widow Fan Girls, Moxie Teenz Melrose, Jackie Evancho Madame Alexander’s Marvel Fan Girls are alike in size and appearance to Moxie Teenz and similar dolls like Jackie Evancho and other 13 1/2” - 14” fashion dolls. With similar builds, they can swap many outfits out. In this first photo both the Fan Girl and Barbie Nutcracker dolls are wearing the same Moxie Teenz Top. However, there are still some differences. The Madame Alexander Fan Girls are slimmer than Moxie Teenz and the other dolls. They can easily wear many Barbie clothes. The Black Widow Fan Girls Doll in the photo is wearing a red pleather Barbie skirt. How the Dolls Stack Up The Fan Girls Dolls have very slender necks that are not in proportion to their heads but their larger heads help them display well with the Moxie Teenz. They have skinnier arms than the other dolls. The Fan Girls are missing the twist torso and bendable ankles of the Moxie Teenz but are very poseable due to other ball...

Moxie Teenz, Fan Girls Celebrate 4th of July

Image
Moxie Teenz, Fan Girls & other 14" friends The Moxie Teenz are known for their big eyes with rooted lashes and their moveable limbs as well as their 14" inch size. How nice it has been for them to make occasional friends along the way that share some of their attributes! In honor of the approaching 4th of July holiday, the Teenz invited their newest friends, the Madame Alexander Fan Girls, and some other friends to a July 4th party to celebrate our nation's birth, patriotism and friendship. Captain America Fan Girls doll The Moxie Teenz girls and Gavin have put on their favorite red, white and blue outfits for the party, along with two Jackie Evancho dolls (one with a Liv head) . Barbie wears a simple summer peasant skirt and top, while the Captain America Fan Girl has arrived in her original outfit. Her friend Black Widow has taken off her black gown to wear a 4th of July skirt and a top she probably borrowed from Ken or a Backstreet Boy or other boy do...

Fan Girls a Tribute to Marvel Characters from Madame Alexander

Image
Part 1 of a 3-part series Fan Girl dolls from Madame Alexander  Madame Alexander has issued an interesting collection of dolls paying homage to various characters from Marvel comics. The 14 inch fashion dolls are dressed in eclectic designs that emulate garments worn by Marvel characters. In all honesty, the costumes are not that appealing and the shoes and boots I personally inspected were downright ugly. The dolls themselves, with the exception of the sad little Spider Man Fan Girl, with her horrific bangs and two-toned hair, are well made and quite pretty. Ball jointed with graceful hands and with their large eyes with rooted lashes, there is a lot of appeal in the Fan Girl dolls from Madame Alexander, if only their clothes had been nicer. In the rest of this series, I will review the Black Widow and Captain America Fan Girl Dolls and compare the Madame Alexander Fan Girls to my favorite 14 inch dolls, the Moxie Teenz. Ask me how you can doll yourself up with amazin...
